The name Red Baklava is something I've been asked about on a routine basis for a long long time. So here's the tale...

"Red Baklava" is the name of the first piece of artwork I ever sold. This important event in my life occurred at a very young age . It was an acryilic painting of a cafe' scene in Greece during the evening sunset.

It's a special feeling for someone to feel so moved by your work that they would be inclined to offer you money to collect & admire your work forever. Couple that with the fact I was only 15 years old at the time...and to me it seemed like a form of continuance & natural progression to keep the name a part of who I am & what I do with my work.

"Red" became my pseudonym for identifying each piece of work I accomplished/completed in my adult life. In some ways it keeps me grounded, humble & hungry. If you understand...then you understand.

And so...now you know the story of Red Baklava. Just know that although the name is my own copyrighted creation...it's still okay to call me Tremell (grin).

My background is in art photography, which is a term that covers many areas. There's never a day where patterns, lines, colors, shapes, angles & shadows don't rob my attention from what I should be doing.

Art photographers see art in everyday conditions & capture them in unordinary ways. Through the  years my evolution has also led me towards portraiture, sports, editorial & event photography.

Thanks for taking the time ...
